CASTROL
introduced its latest four-stroke motorcycle oil product
Castrol Power 1 by letting biking enthusiasts experience
firsthand the product’s impressive features during the
first-ever 12-hour endurance race in the country.
Castrol
Power 1 comes in two variants, Castrol Power 1 4T, which
is semi-synthetic, and Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T, which
is fully synthetic.
Held at
the Batangas Racing Circuit, the event had all 16
competing teams, including Kawasaki Motors Philippines,
Kymco Philippines, Motorstar (Eastworld Industrial Sales
Inc.), Philippine Motorcycle Resources Corp., Sinski
Motorcycle Philippines, Suzuki Philippines and Yamaha
Motor Philippines, use Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T.
Castrol
Power 1 Racing 4T is made with Trizone Technology that
amplifies power and acceleration for high-performance
sports bikes. It is combined with a formula that
provides consistent protection throughout the drain
interval, maintaining the engine’s excellent performance
while keeping clean parts such as the clutch and
gears.
“By
using the endurance race as a means to demonstrate our
product, we were able to simultaneously reach out to
numerous brands. We were able to prove how Castrol Power
1 gives increased acceleration even under the most
arduous riding conditions. At the same time, its
protecting and lubricating properties are maintained
over time, significantly reducing the bike’s wear and
tear,” said Castrol’s motorcycle oil brand manager Erica
Esguerra.
“Castrol
Power 1 is suited for all types of four-stroke
motorcycles. The 12-hour endurance race tested it [with]
several bikes, and they were able to triumphantly finish
over 200 laps,” Esguerra added.
The
event, organized by the National Racing Association
(NRA), was, likewise, a venue to raise the ante for
local motorcycle racers and mechanics.
“The
Philippine motorcycle industry is very young. But the
talent and the capability of Filipino motorcycle racers
are already there. We purposively raised the standards
for this particular competition—even higher than the
Asian standards—to better prepare both racers and
mechanics for international competitions,” said NRA
president and race director Jake Swann, who has been
conducting these races for the past seven years.
“NRA and
Castrol also wanted to design an event that would
interest the manufacturers and provide a venue to
showcase their products,” Swann added.
During
the endurance race, three riders took turns for 12 hours
using only one motorcycle per team. They competed in
three different categories: 110 cc, 125 cc and the
wildcard category, which was for motorcycles outside the
two previous categories.
Riders
Jaime Barcial Jr., Maico Bunsio and Anthony Roman of
Yamaha’s team won in the 110-cc category, finishing 279
laps using the Crypton Z 110 model.
Team
Kawasaki’s Geoffrey Aguisanda, Shervy Paul Soyangco and
Raniel Resuello brought home the victor’s title for the
125-cc category with 280 laps done.
Team
Yamaha won the wildcard category with Christopher
Barcial, Jeffrey Chan and Masato Fernando coming to a
284-lap end. |
