WITH today’s cost of fuel rising faster than mercury under the sun, one would think those involved in the automobile industry would be running for cover and keeping their heads low until such time when they can go and venture safely out again.

But this is the thinking of ordinary businessmen without foresight and not enough balls to go against the trend. Run and hide, don’t get wet, come out when the sun comes to shine. Traditional, safe, nondynamic, unradical, not an industry leader.

And then here we are, invited to historic Corregidor by the team of Autohub, only to be surprised by an announcement that they intend to buck the trend and go for expansion and improvement. If businessmen have balls, then Autohub dealer principal Willie Q. Tee Ten probably has the biggest.

With at least eight companies under its roof dealing in everything automotive, from buying, selling, marketing at wholesale or retail, cars, spare parts and accessories, and rendering related services such as vehicle repair and maintenance, car lease, used car sales, detailing and body paint and repair, Autohub could might as well be the biggest gambler in the auto industry today.

The Autohub Group of Companies is a synergy of automotive dealerships and car-service companies composed of Ford Global City, Ford Manila, Ford Cagayan de Oro, Ford Davao, Nissan Gallery Ortigas, Nissan Gallery Quezon Avenue, Nissan Gallery Cagayan de Oro, Hyundai Global City Hub, Klassik BMW, AutoZone, Tracksport International, Trading Manila (Kama Trucks), Sinski Motorcycles and Chery Cars (Global City and Greenhills).

These companies service such a huge part of the automotive market that expanding and improving their service would not be a cheap adventure. But Tee Ten would like to think this is the best time to invest, when everything is in chaos, so that when the industry settles down, he is already on top and raring to go.

In fact, Autohub did this a few years back, when they offered the same warranty to vehicles bought from them that switched to LPG. “Why penalize the client who only wishes to improve a product he bought? We can install it with the proper equipment anyway,” Tee Ten was quoted as saying then.

Autohub delivers all services needed by a motorist, from a 24/7 service crew for emergencies to registering cars at the Land Transportation Office. They are backed by highly trained technicians and personnel from the different companies they source out from to ensure that Autohub can give out the needs of every motorist they cater to.

Autohub also has other promos to attract costumers like free i-Pods, zero-percent down payments on certain brands and the introduction of new models and variants in the coming months.

So, while everyone else is running for cover and hiding, Autohub is trailblazing to set the pace when the day of reckoning comes.
