Consumers may have to dig deeper into their pockets as they have to pay for expensive fuel, as oil companies have again increased the pump price of diesel, gasoline and kerosene by another P1.50 per liter.

Over the weekend, Chevron Philippines Inc., Petron Corp. Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., and Total (Philippines) Corp. have announced that they have increased the price of diesel, gasoline and kerosene by another P1.50 a liter.

According to the Department of Energy (DOE), oil benchmark Dubai crude averaged $126.99 barrel in June from $119.50 per barrel in May.

The DOE also noted that Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS)-based gasoline averaged $139.68 per barrel in June from $131.13 per barrel in May, while MOPS-based diesel averaged $168.71 per barrel in June from $161.22 per barrel in May.

The DOE added that the price of liquefied petroleum gas has also increased to $912.50 per MT this month from $855.50 per MT  in May and $812 per MT in April.

As of June 21, the DOE reported that the per-liter price of unleaded gasoline ranges  from P56.76 to P58.57 per liter; diesel at P49.50 per liter to P51.47 per liter; kerosene at P53.60 per liter to P56.80 per liter; and LPG from P600 per 11-kilo to P671.50 per 11-kilo tank.
