  • PNP, BORA rowers win FILA TOURNEY
     

    THE Philippine National Police (PNP) Patriots ruled the 500 meters mixed open category and the Bugsay Boracay took the 500-meter women’s open title of the recent Fila Boracay International Dragon Boat Festival.

    The Patriots clocked two minutes and 3.50 seconds to beat Tribu Camarines Sur (2:04.32) and Bugsay Boracay (2:06.82) in the event where Rush Fitness Water was the official drink.

    Fifty teams composed of more than 1,000 local and international rowers, including those from the US, Germany, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong, took part in the event. 

    Bugsay Boracay won the 500-meter women’s open with a time of 2:22.12, followed by Hong Kong’s Stormy Dragons (2:22.79) and the Philippine Youth Rowing Society, or PYROS (2:28.16).

    The German team Wann Sea Dragons won the 500-meter men’s open (2:07.60). Second was Tribu Camarines Sur (2:09.41) and third was Bugsay Boracay (2:10.16).

    Tribu Camarines Sur emerged victorious in the 300-meters mixed open with a time of 1:13.91). It beat the PNP Patriots (1:14.44) and Bugsay Boracay (1:15.28).

    Stormy Dragons of Hong Kong submitted the fastest time in the 300-meter women’s open with 1:25.00. Bugsay Boracay came in a close second with 1:25.10 and PYROS was third in 1:28.44.
