what we’ve written many times, nothing stops Dennis
Trillo from getting the most beautiful women in show
biz.
And he
does that with the approval of many, including the
manager or the parent of the girl. The latest “victim”
is Heart Evangelista.
In a
television interview, Dennis confessed that he had a
crush on Heart many years ago, when both of them were
under the Kapamilya Network. He added that his heart
still beats faster every time Heart is near him.
It will
be recalled that Dennis started in show biz as part of
the defunct Star Circle Talent Center, now known as Star
Magic. His appearances in Kapamilya soaps were in
Pangako Sa ’Yo and Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan,
playing sidekick to the male leads.
At the
time, Heart was the “it” girl of Philippine show biz,
desired by males of all ages, admired and envied by
millions of women. Dennis was, well, one of her secret
admirers.
Now that
both Heart and Dennis are in the same playground, GMA,
nothing should stop our silent lady killer. At least, he
has earned his keep. He has won awards. He has improved
his craft. He has shown that although he is regarded as
No. 2 in the Kapuso Network, he will always be there.
“Because the No. 1 has nowhere to go but down,” said a
well-respected show biz scribe who shall remain nameless
for fear that typhoon Annabelle Rama will unleash her
fury on him. Anyhow, Dennis also fathered a child, whom
he supported—without making a media circus out of
it—even before the mother, Carlene Aguilar, gave birth.
More important, he has since then been in good terms
with Carlene. So with Rufa Mae Quinto and Cristine
Reyes, who were both frequent visitors in his condo.
But all
the intrigues haven’t negatively impacted his career.
As if to
underscore that the stars continue to align for Dennis,
in another report Reynaldo Ongpauco, the father and
comanager of Heart, said that he likes Dennis for his
daughter. Many of Jericho Rosales’s fans asked why,
given the fact that Dennis is already a single dad.
The
usual suspects surmised that it has something to do with
the unwritten rule for Filipino-Chinese families to
favor their own kind. Dennis’s real surname is Ho. His
father is pure Chinese. More than that, Dennis showed
courage and responsibility when he admitted that he is
the father of Carlene’s child.
Because
up to now, many are still wondering what happened to
Jericho’s son. For a time, Jericho kept on denying that
he had one until tattle floated in the tabloids, and he
eventually revealed the secret in his closet. He pleaded
to the media not to report further about the child
because “he is just a baby boy.”
Not
going any farther from the Kapamilya Network, at least
Piolo Pascual was man enough to admit that he has a son.
And everybody’s papa openly reveals the status of his
one and only son, now studying in Burbank, California.
The financial support from Piolo continues even while
the boy is on the other side of the globe.
Like
what we advised before to people who hide lots of things
in their closets, Jericho should do a Piolo Pascual.
Man-up to admit shortcomings, correct mistakes and tell
the truth without crying before Boy Abunda in a taped
interview.
But
before we get carried away, we’re wondering what would
happen to Dennis’s now-made-public affection for Heart,
who is paired with Kapuso’s No. 1 male talent, Richard
Gutierrez?
Well,
like what we’ve been saying again and again, our silent
lady killer moves in mysterious ways. We will soon get
the confirmation from our mole in Dennis’s life, our guy
who also eats breakfast in the heartthrob’s very
accommodating condo unit. Just wait there, readers.
Still on Echo
NOW that
the hurdle in the form of a heart has been cleared,
there’s no stopping the return of Jericho Rosales and
Kristine Hermosa love team, at least on camera. (Come to
think of it, they were the lead actors in Pangako Sa
’Yo, the same soap where Dennis played sidekick.)
It will
be recalled that Echo and Kristine were once real-life
lovers. The once-favorite couple on prime-time
television broke up because of Jericho’s involvement
with then-model Cindy Kurleto, who is now somewhere in
oblivion. Before Heart, it was reported in various media
that Cindy was living in with him.
In a
flash report over at celebrity site Philippine
Entertainment Portal, it was revealed that Echo and
Kristine will be paired again in an episode on ABS-CBN’s
longest-running drama series Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK).
The story is still being written but, for sure, it will
have a super kilig-oriented plot.
It was
also reported that after the MMK special, a movie and a
soap opera—in that order—will follow for the comebacking
Echo-Kristine tandem.
It’s a
match made in heaven...and hell.
One
sired a son, got involved with many pretty girls and for
the first time was rejected by someone he allegedly
truly loves. The other got married with a former screen
partner, someone whose sexuality was also put in
question many times, but is now free. So are you having
migraine, already?
Life
imitates show biz, but what matters most is that you’re
talk of the town again. The soap operas, movies, product
endorsements and relentless cash flow will follow.
